Education/Outreach

The Office of Public Outreach (OPO) at Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) was created to share the amazing discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope with the American public. OPO’s activities are directed at complementary strands that broadly define the communities served: news, formal education, informal education and online outreach. Through the Science Education and Public Outreach Forum (EPO), OPO provides guidance and expertise for creating meaningful education/outreach associated with missions and research programs.

The Youth for Astronomy and Education (YAE) is a program for youth interested in astronomy and engineering as a career. Participants find engage in activities and experiences that are representative of the work done by individuals in astronomical and engineering field to increase skill and interest in those fields.
