Mars, the object of centuries of intense curiosity and careful scrutiny, is now the subject of an ExInEd Electronic PictureBook authored by The Planetary Society. Images of Mars contains a brief but informative summary of the history of human interest in Mars, as well as full-color images and descriptive captions that describe the planet as revealed by Vikings I and II, one of the most productive research missions in the history of space exploration. As the current international movement to return to Mars grows, students will find this an informative introduction to the planet and its beautiful, but hostile, terrain.
