This directory contains some documentation relevant to 
calibration of HST data. 


The *.book files are in FrameMaker format. You must be running
FrameMaker at your home institute in order to read them.
Tex and postscript versions of ICD19 are available under
software/stsdas/v1.3/doc/user/DataDescrip/Pipeline/ICD19
or
documents/stsdas-docs/user/DataDescrip/Pipeline/ICD19

Note that the Calibration Guide is no longer being
actively maintained. Current information about
calibrating HST data sets is found in the "HST
Data Handbook" which became available as of February
1994.

The "HST Data Handbook" is available on STEIS in
the directory /documents/hst-data-handbook/

CalibGuide.book - Frame version of the "STSDAS Calibration Guide." The most
                  recent version is 1.2, dated November 1991.

CalibGuide.ps	- PostScript version of the "STSDAS Calibration Guide." The most
		  recent version is 1.2, dated November 1991.

icd_19.book - The introduction to "ICD19: PODPS to STSDAS"
              This describes the keywords used in science data 
              headers. The information for each instrument is 
              given in a separate chapter.  
FOC.book      The keywords used for the FOC
FOS.book            "                   FOS.
HRS.book            "                   HRS.
HSP.book            "                   HSP.
WFPC.book           "                   WFPC.


Defs.book     FrameMaker file of the document "PODPS dictionary"
              which gives definitions for PODPS keywords.

podps.dict    This is an ascii version of Defs.book.  

calibration_article   This is an article written for the STScI
                      Newsletter by Bohlin and Lindler which
                      describes the standard star data in 
                      calobs and calspec
