This directory contains site-specific information about the
computing environment at STScI. The documentation stored here
includes:

 SiteGuide/    The STScI Site Guide for IRAF and STSDAS. Includes
               information about setting up and using various
               devices and charts listing the IRAF aliases for
               these devices.

 VMSGuide/     The STScI VMS Users Guide. Novices to the VMS
               operating system will find much of this guide to
               be applicable to learning about VMS in general,
               although there is also information about software
               installed at STScI that will not be generally
               available.

 UnixGuide/    The STScI Unix Users Guide. Tutorial information
               about Unix systems in general, with details about
               the local STScI installation and its resources.

In general, the PostScript files will be the best versions as
they are the most complete and the most frequently maintained.
