VMS Users Guide
This chapter describes various software packages available on the VMS systems at STScI. This software is provided by both Digital and third-party vendors and includes programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, and Pascal, and tools for program development. This chapter also gives an overview of data analysis software, graphics packages, and math libraries. A section at the end describes miscellaneous software, such as a spreadsheet program and a calculator. The Institute's computing environment is constantly evolving and packages are regularly updated and added. Consequently, portions of this chapter may be quickly outdated.
