HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #2823 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 03/06/01 - 0000Z (UTC) 03/07/01 Daily Status Report as of 066/0000Z 1.0 OBSERVATIONS SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * No science proposals were executed due to the entry into safemode and the on-going recovery process. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions: 1 Successful: 1 Scheduled Re-acquisitions: 0 Successful: 0 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled: 7 Successful: 3 According to HSTAR 8106, the full maneuver updates scheduled for 065/141029Z and for 065/141529 both failed on tracker #3. The update at 065/2036Z also failed. The roll delay update scheduled for 066/063853Z failed due to tracker #3. Subsequent full maneuver updates, however, were successful. HSTAR 8109 was written. 2.3 Operations Notes: HST operations transitioned to the normal science operations SMS at 065/2200Z. The first guide star acquisition at 066/0730Z was successful. The engineering status buffer limits were adjusted four times (for the update failures). ROP IC-2 was utilized to turn SSA transmitter #2 on at 065/0636Z and off at 065/0706Z. HSTAR 8107 was written when the Main Bus A Voltage (CMNBUSAV) flagged high at 065/165025Z with a value of 32.712 volts for two telemetry samples (limit is 32.71 volts). At the time voltage was increasing as trickle charge was approaching. Once trickle charge was achieved, the parameter returned to nominal range. Per operations requests, the NSSC-1 pointer was set and MTE power was applied at 065/1827Z. Operations returned to four magnetic torquer system (MTS) control at 065/1911Z. At the same time, the four MTS safemode test was re-enabled. An attitude reference update was performed at 065/2002Z. A real-time map occurred at 066/0437Z. Using ROP SR-1A, the SSR EDAC error counter was cleared at 066/0750Z. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Continuation of normal science observations and calibrations. /CAW
