1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISHED:

    The HST project successfully performed the following observations
    during the last designated period without encountering operation
    problems: 

   1.1 Completed Two Sets of FOS/BL 3545 (UV Spectra in Early Type Galaxies)

   1.2 Completed Two Sets of FOC/96 3801 (Search For QSOs Suitable for 
       Subsequent Observations)

   1.3 Uplinked Updated Ephemeris Tables, Per MOSES 2871

   1.4 Completed HSP/POL/UV2 3234 (X-Ray Binaries)

   1.5 Completed Five Sets of PC 4714 (Internal Delta Flats)

   1.6 Completed FOC/96 3671 (spectroscopy of Hydrogen Poor Planetary 
       Nebulae)

   1.7 Completed Two Sets of HSP/VIS/PMT 4257 (Dynamics of Planetary Upper
       Atmospheres) 

   1.8 Completed GHRS/2 2852 (HRS Threshold Adjustment Test)

   1.9 Completed PC 4347 (Flood Retention Test)

   1.10 Initiated WFC 2438 (Study of the Most Distant Galaxies)

2.0 SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES 

   The HST project performed the above observations during the last
   designated period and did not encountered any operation problems. 

3.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY:

   3.4 Operations Note: 

       The third Servicing Mission Internal Simulation (aka. EVA Sim. #1)
       is being conducted today (Wednesday, Jan.14) from 014/1300 through
       014/2300Z. This simulation will cover the time line from the Solar
       Array Primary Deployment Motor (PDM) event through the conclusion of
       EVA #1. This simulation will provide the HST Servicing Mission team
       with functional training to ensure operational readiness. 

4.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED FOR NEXT REPORTING PERIOD:

   4.1 Complete WFC 2438 (Study of the Most Distant Galaxies)

   4.2 Complete GHRS/2 3755 (Absorption Cross Sections of Nearby Galaxies)

   4.3 Complete PC 4714 (Internal Delta Flats)

   4.4 Complete FOS/BL 4110 (The Physics of Massive O-type Stars)

6.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS:

       Two separate tests will be conducted in the VEST on Monday, Jan.18
       from 013/2100Z through 014/0900Z, and on Wednesday, Jan. 20 form
       020/1700Z to 021/0500Z to check out the procedures which will be
       used for recovery from a Zero Gyro Safe Mode state.
