Scheduled Acquisitions : 0 Successful : 0 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 0 Successful : 0 Losses of Lock : 0 2.2 FHST Updates: The were no Fixed Head Star Tracker updates due to the safemode event. Scheduled : 0 Successful : 0 2.3 Significant HSTARs: Recovery from safemode was initiated this morning with the "Health and Safety" SMS being begun at 166/0800Z. Interception of the science SMS is scheduled for 167/0000Z. No problems have been reported with the recovery operations. HST entered Inertial Hold Safemode at 165/001726Z after failing the Earth Bright Object Protection safemode test. The system response to the entry was normal. Payload soft safing also occurred as expected. The FOC, FOS, and HSP were commanded to their safe modes while the GHRS is in hold mode and the WFPC is in ready mode. The event occurred during testing with the internal source. The safemode test failed because the FGS high voltage was prematurely on prior to exiting earth occultation. The problem appears to be a previously undiscovered error in the PASS Mission Scheduling software. 2.4 Operations Note: EVA 5 & 2 simulation is still scheduled to start tomorrow (Wednesday, June 16, 1993) at noon (Local Time). 3.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED FOR NEXT REPORTING PERIOD: Resume Science SMS at 167/0000Z (Recovery from HST Inertial Hold Safemode). 3.1 Complete FOC/96 4804 (UV Imaging of Nearby Galaxies with FOC/96) 3.2 Complete GHRS/2 3737 (The Onset of Chromospheric Activity) 3.3 Complete HSP/VIS 4209 (HSP Detector Sensitivity Test) 3.4 Complete WFC 4277 (Calibration of Nearby Galaxy Type IA Super novae as Standard Candles) 4.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 4.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 4.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 5.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
