HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1086 PERIOD COVERED: 0700 EST Daily Status Report as of 061/1200Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5240 (SMOV-WF/PC-2 Flat field Calibration) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a set of visual internal flat images. The images were received and displayed. Two of the observations were reported to be underexposed. 1.2 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5092 (GTO Low Latitude Parallel Program: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations taken in parallel with the prime science observations. This is part of a survey to take pictures of a large number of fields within 30 degrees of the galactic plan. The intent is to determine the luminosity function of low mass stars and the mass density in the solar neighborhood. Two images were received as scheduled, and they were reported to look okay. Both images were reported to show interesting faint features. 1.3 Completed Two Sets of FOS/RD 4776 (FOS SMOV Spectral Flat Fields) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make observations of white dwarf star G191B2B (aka WD0501+527) which is known to have a hot hydrogen atmosphere and a relatively featureless ultraviolet spectrum. These observations will help provide a flat field calibration of the system. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 4709 (WF/PC-2 Internal monitor) The WF/PC camera was used to make a series of routine ultraviolet flat calibration images to monitor the instrument's performance. The observations were monitored in the OSS, and the data quality was assessed. Some of the exposures were reported to be thinly exposed. 1.5 Completed FOS/RD 4773 (SMOV COSTAR/FOS Sensitivity MSMT) The Faint Object spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make observations of standard star WD0501+527 to measure the absolute sensitivity of the FOS detectors. The observations were completed in fine lock as expected. The observations were executed without apparent anomaly. The baseline guide star acquisition got fine lock, and the target was found in the center group of the initial 3X1 peakup and in group 10 of the subsequent 6X2 peakup. No anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 3 Successful : 3 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 12 Successful : 12 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled :1 Successful :1 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: There have been no reported HST subsystem anomalies.
