HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1143 PERIOD COVERED: 0700 EST Daily Status Report as of 140/1200Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5217 (Jupiter's Aurora and Airglow) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of Jupiter's north Auroral region. A total of six observations were received and displayed in the OSS. They were reported to look okay. Two of the images were reported to be partially saturated, although they are being used to locate the limb of Jupiter. 1.2 Completed GHRS/2 5473 (The Interstellar Abundance of Krypton: Cycle 4 High) The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make observations of the star Omega 1-Scorpii which is an O/B class star to study the abundance of Krypton. Eight observations were received and displayed, and they were reported to look okay. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5570 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earthflats, Large Set) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a set of Earth flat calibration images using different filters in order to construct high quality flat fields of the OTA illumination pattern. A total of seven images were received and displayed. Five of these were either saturated of underexposed. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-4939. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. The science data remains on the Science Tape Recorder #3, and will be analyzed later. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5396 (The Formation of Globular Clusters During Mergers) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-3256-PO. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5375 (High Resolution Images of Virgo Galaxies with Kinematically Distinct Cores) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxies NGC-4192, and NGC-4526. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 8 Successful : 8 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled :15 Successful :15 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: A quiet operational day was experienced as no anomalous activity was reported in any HST subsystem. 3.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED FOR NEXT REPORTING PERIOD: 3.1 Complete WF/PC-2 5560 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor. 1) 3.2 Complete GHRS/1 5373 (Excitation Processes for the Ultraviolet Dayglow of Jupiter: Cycle 4) 3.3 Complete FGS 5333 (Linking the HIPPARCOS to the Extragalactic Reference Frame BR12-23, Part 2) 3.4 Complete WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structures in Nearby AGNs) 3.5 Complete WF/PC-2 5218 (Io's Interactions With the Jovian Plasma Torus) 3.6 Complete WF/PC-2 5397 (Determination of the Extragalactic Distance Scale: Cycle 4 High) 3.7 Complete Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5481 (Ages for the Outermost Globular Clusters) 3.8 Complete WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies) 3.9 Complete GHRS/2 5597 (GHRS ECH-B Sensitivity Calibration: Cycle 4) 3.10 Complete WF/PC-2 1070 (High Resolution Imaging of Radio Galaxies at Large Redshift) 3.11 Complete WF/PC-2 5465 (WF/PC-2 Imaging of Two Galaxy Cluster at Z=1.2) 3.12 Complete WF/PC-2 5570 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earthflats, Large Set) 3.13 Complete FOS/RD 5579 (Cycle 4 Test: To Determine FOS Polarimetry Mode) 3.14 Complete FGS 5510 (Mass Ratio Determination for Doubles with Substellar Mass Members) 3.15 Complete WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium_Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude; CR-SPLIT) 3.16 Complete WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) 4.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 4.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 4.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 5.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
