HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1150 PERIOD COVERED: 0700 EST Daily Status Report as of 152/1200Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed FGS 5333 (Linking the HIPPARCOS to the Extragalactic Reference Frame,BR12-23, Part 2) The FGSs were used to obtain astrometric observations of stars 1758-651IN and INCA221-11 whose apparent positions lie near extragalactic objects. The experiment completed in fine lock without known anomaly. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude: CR-SPLIT) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. The images were received in the OSS, and they were reported to look okay. 1.3 Completed Two Sets of GHRS/2 5322 (Origin of the Ultra-High-Ionisation O VIII Emission Lines) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make high signal-to-noise ratio spectroscopic observations of the extremely hot pre-white dwarf star RXJ2117+34. The 3X3 field map found the target in group 6, and the observations proceeded without apparent incident. Subsequent observations were also made on star KPD0005+51. The science observations remains on Science Tape Recorder #1, and will be analyzed later. 1.4 Completed Two Sets of 5643 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Partially Rotated Filters) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a visual flat observation to be used with subsequent observations of star GRW+70D5824, which will be observed through partially rotated quad filters. The observations was executed as scheduled, and the data remains on Science Tape Recorder #1. It will be analyzed later. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-2541. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5380 (UV Spectral Distribution of Low Luminosity Active Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-5033 which is known to have a low luminosity active galactic nuclei. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of NGC-6211. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5308 (High Resolution PC Imaging of a Z=2.4 Galaxy: Cycle 4 Medium) The WF/PC-2 was used to make very deep exposures of the young compact elliptical galaxy 53W002. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 9 Successful : 9 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled :12 Successful :12 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: Each HST subsystem reports that no anomalous onboard conditions occurred in the last twenty-four hours. 3.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED FOR NEXT REPORTING PERIOD: 3.1 Complete WF/PC-2 5646 ()WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: CTE Dither Test 3.2 Complete WF/PC-2 5570 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earthflats, Large Set) 3.3 Complete FOC/96 5151 (Follow-up Far-Ultraviolet Prism Observations of Selected Red-shift Objects) 3.4 Complete Two Set of WF/PC-2 5091 (GTO High Latitude Parallel Program: Cycle 4) 3.5 Complete WF/PC-2 5643 (WF/PC-2 cycle 4 Calibration: Partially Rotated Filters) 3.6 Complete WF/PC-2 1070 (High Resolution Imaging of Radio Galaxies at Large Redshift) 3.7 Complete WF/PC-2 5380 (UV Spectral Distribution in Low Luminosity Active Galaxies - Imaging) 3.8 Complete GHRS/1 5376 (A Search for Molecular Oxygen Atmosphere on Europa: Cycle 4 Medium) 4.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 4.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 4.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 5.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
