HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1157 PERIOD COVERED: 0700 EST Daily Status Report as of 161/1200Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5643 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Partially Rotated Filters) The WF/PC-2 was used to make visual flat observations. The observations was executed as scheduled. Three observations were received and displayed. There were portions of three images which were saturated and underexposed. 1.2 Completed Four Sets of WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make four snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of MARK-1261, NGC-7469, NGC-7592, MARK-359, and NGC-5953. The observations were executed as scheduled. The first observation was reported to look okay. The last four observations still remain on Science Tape Recorder #3, and will be analyzed later. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5099 (Imaging and Spectroscopy of a Complete Sample of Bright Nearby Quasars) The WF/PC-2 was used to image nearby quasar PG0953+414. The observations were executed as scheduled. One observations was received and displayed. It was reported to look okay. More data still remains on Science Tape Recorder #3, and will be analyzed later. 1.4 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxies NGC-4487 and NGC-628. The observations were executed as scheduled. Two observations were received and displayed. They were reported to look okay. More data still remains of Science Tape Recorder #3. It will be analyzed later. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5419 (A Search for Low-Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei in Nearby Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-7743, which is known to have an ultraviolet bright, low-luminosity, active galactic nuclei. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed Two Sets of FOS/RD 5535 (Cycle 4 Internal Wavelength Calibration) The Faint Object Spectrograph was used to make internal calibration observations to monitor the stability of the wavelength scale for different gratings. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5655 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor. 2: Flats Part 2) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a visual flat calibration image. The observation was executed as scheduled, and no anomalies have be noted. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5465 (WF/PC-2 Imaging of Two Galaxy clusters at Z=1.2) The WF/PC-2 was used to make deep images of galaxy cluster 3C324 at Z=1.2. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 7 Successful : 7 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 9 Successful : 9 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled :10 Successful :10 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: There were no problems in any HST onboard subsystem during the past operational day. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 4.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 4.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: The installation of NSSC-I Flight Software (FSW) Version 5.3 is scheduled for this Saturday evening (June 11). /DMH -END-
