The observation was executed as scheduled, and all three images were reported to look fine. 1.5 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the galaxies NGC-5907 and NGC-959. In the first set, two observations were received and displayed. They were reported to look fine. The second set of observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed Two Sets of GHRS/1/2 5440 (Spectra Imaging of the Jovian Aurora) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One and Two) was used to obtain spectra of Jupiter's aurorae. The observations were executed as scheduled, and twenty observations were received and displayed. They were reported to look nominal. Some recentering events were reported. 1.7 Complete Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5427 (Calibration of Nearby Galaxy Type IA Supernovae as Standard Candles) The WF/PC-2 was used to make an observation of nearby galaxy NGC-45636-FI as part of an effort to find Cepheids in this galaxy which has produced a Type I supernovae. The observation was executed as scheduled, and it was reported to be nominal. A recentering event was also reported. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5380 (UV Spectral Distribution in Low Luminosity Active Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-4639 which is known to have a low luminosity active galactic nuclei. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.9 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot images of radio galaxies 3C318.1, 3C382.0, and 3C403.0 as part of a continuum survey and to study the galaxies' morphology. Seven images were received and displayed. They were reported to be nominal. 1.10 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5570 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earthflats, Large Set) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a set of Earth flat calibration images using different filters in order to construct high quality flat fields of the OTA illumination pattern. A total of twenty four images were received and displayed. Twelve were saturated, eleven were okay, and one was underexposed. 1.11 Completed FGS 5333 (Linking HIPPARCOS to the Extragalactic Reference Frame BR12-23, Part 2) The FGSs were used to obtain astrometric observations of the star 1758-651IN whose apparent positions lie near extragalactic objects. This star will also be observed with the HIPPARCOS satellite. The intent is to tie the HIPPARCOS reference frame to the extragalactic frame. Most of the Astrometry occurred in LOS, but the OSS was able to watch the first observation. FGS #3 achieved Fine Lick, but the Stop Flag and "Scan Limit Exceeded" Flag Appeared. 1.12 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude: CR-SPLIT) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. Two observations were received and displayed in the OSS. Both observations were reported to be okay, except for some recenterings 1.13 Completed FOS/RD 5530 (FOS Location of spectra and Aperture) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make Y-base maps of the FOS detectors using internal lamps. The purpose is to determine the location of the spectra on the diodes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and the data remains on Science Tape Recorder #3. It will be analyzed later. No anomalies were noted. 1.14 Completed WF/PC-2 5653 (Cycle 4 DD HST Observations of Comet Shoemaker-Levy (1993E) for June 1) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the comet Shoemaker-Levy (Objects #5 and #15) before its impact with the planet Jupiter to help refine the size estimates for the various components in the comet's train. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.15 Completed WF/PC-2 5450 (Host Galaxies and Cluster Environments of Quasars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of Quasar QSO-115223 to study the properties of its host galaxy and surrounding environment. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.16 Completed WF/PC-2 5419 (A Search for Very Low Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-5005, which is known to have a ultraviolet bright, low-luminosity, active galactic nuclei. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.17 Completed WF/PC-2 5096 (BL Lac Objects: A0 0235+164: Cycle 4 Observations) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of BL Lac object AO0235+164 in three different colors.
