1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:

       The spacecraft is in inertial hold and no science proposals were
       executed.

2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY:

       The spacecraft is in inertial hold.

   2.4 Operations Notes:

       The HST remains in the inertial hold mode, with all health and
       safety functions being performed manually by the operations crew.
       Hardware and software anomaly teams performed their investigations
       throughout the day and into the night.

       Analysis of the memory dump taken after an intensive interactive
       test indicated a failure in PMU #5/LMU #3.

       Status meetings will be held throughout the day to plan the return
       to normal operations.
