HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1225 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 259/0000Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5210 (Extragalactic H II Region and the Interstellar Medium) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy M-101 to look for extra-galactic H II regions in the outer part of the galaxy to determine their characteristics. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5562 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor 3: Darks) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain several 30-minute long, dark exposures to provide ongoing calibration of the CCD dark current and to monitor and characterize the evolution of hot pixels. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of NGC-1976 to study the interactions between the central engine, the stars, and the interstellar matter in the AGN. Observations were also make of standard star HD37020. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed FOS (Red Side) 5469 (Externally Illuminated Proto-Stellar Disks and Naked Jets) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make high resolution observations of young stellar objects and proto-planetary disks in NGC-1976 (aka, The Orion Nebula). The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 4 FGS #2 Scan Step limit exceeded at 258/1147Z.
