:) Subj: HST REPORT #1232 HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1232 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 270/0000Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed FOS/RD 5363 (Probing the Shocked Ejecta of a Young Remnant:Cycle 4 Medium) The FOS (Red Side) was used to observe the young supernova remnant SN1978K (V=18.7) in NGC-1313 to examine the widths, positions and fluxes of UV emission lines. The onboard binary target acquisitions failed and the peakup target acquisitions failed to bracket the target. These failures were documented in HSTAR 4923. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5369 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 made a series of observations of high latitude objects as part of a medium deep sky survey. The observations were taken in parallel with other prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed FOS/BL 5460 (Constraints on Massive Star Evolution from Carbon and Oxygen Abundance) The FOS (Blue Side) was used to observe HD32125 to obtain UV spectra of several Wolf-Rayet stars in the LMC to determine the C/He and O/C ratios. The observation was completed as scheduled, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5655 (Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor 2 - Flats Part 2)) The WF/PC-2 was used to make both dark and visual flats. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5629 (Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration Monitor 1C: 4-Chip Standard in F170W) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric calibration observations of the ultraviolet standard star GRW+70D582. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5563 (Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration Monitor 1: UV/OPT Standard) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric calibration images of ultraviolet standard star GRW+70D582 and monitor the photometric stability and quantum efficiency of the WF/PC-2. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5464 (A Study of the AGB in Local Group Bulge Populations) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the stellar bulge in galaxy NGC-598-1 to make a survey of its stellar population. The observations were completed as expected, and no problems were reported. 1.8 Completed FOS/BL 5532 (Dark Monitoring) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to monitor the instrument's background (dark) images. The observations were executed as scheduled, and on anomalies were noted. 1.9 Completed WF/PC-2 5475 (A Snapshop Survey for Blue Stragglers in Magellanic Cluster Cores - Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make short exposure snapshot images of the blue straggler stars located in populous cluster NGC-152. The intent is to find out if blue straggler stars exist within the cluster. The observation was executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 8 Successful : 8 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 8 Successful : 8 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 13 Successful : 13 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: HST subsystem engineers report that for the previous operational day there were no significant problems in any onboard subsystem. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /CAW -END-
