HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1235 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 273/0000Z. 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed FOC/96 5301 (Structure and Population of Globular Clusters) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make observations of the large globular cluster NGC-104 to make images of its core and two fields farther from the center. During this proposal, the HST underwent three re-centering events for a total of nine seconds. Otherwise, the observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4: Medium High Galactic Latitude - CR Split) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. There were two re-centering events totalling six seconds. The observations were completed as planned, and no further problems were reported. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5663 (Cycle 4: Photometric Calibration Monitor: Fields Part 2) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of globular cluster NGC-6752 with various filters in order to check the photometric calibration of the WF/PC-2. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5572 (Cycle 4: Photometric Filter Calibration) The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of GRW+70D582 to perform photometric calibrations for all of the WF/PC-2 filters. The observations were completed as planned, although there was one re-centering event for three seconds. 1.5 Completed FOC/96 5147 (High Resolution Observations of Symbiotic Variable: Cycle 4) The Faint Object Camera was used to make observations of a symbiotic star known to possess complex surrounding emission nebulosities. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5091 (High Latitude Parallel Program - Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations greater than +/-30 degrees. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were reported. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5397 (Determination of the Extragalactic Distance Scale: Cycle 4 high) The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of galaxy NGC-925 to be used in measuring the periods of Cepheid variable stars within other galaxies. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5570 (Cycle 4 Calibration: Earth Flats, Large Set) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a set of Earth flat calibration images using different filters in order to construct high quality flat fields of the OTA illumination pattern. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 4 Successful : 4 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 10 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 11 Successful : 11 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: HST operations experienced no anomalies in any onboard subsystem. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /CAW -END-
