HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1240 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 280/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5508 (Tracking Features in Titan's Lower Atmosphere and on Its Surface) The WF/PC-2 obtained images of Saturn's noon Titan to look for cloud features, and possibly surface features. The observations completed with no reported errors. 1.2 Completed GHRS/2 5550 (GHRS Telescope Breathing Monitor: Cycle 4) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side 2) was used to obtain spectra (SSA), and images (LSA) using standard star HD333282. Wavelength calibration observations were also taken. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5419 (A Search for Very Low-Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei in Nearby Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-3718, which is known to have ultraviolet bright, low-luminosity, active galactic nuclei. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed FGS 5336 (Linking the HIPPARCOS to the Extragalactic Reference Frame: NEWHIP-B) The Fine Guidance Sensor #3 was used to make astrometric observations of objects NEWEGOB-17, 120-REF,121-REF, 122-REF, and NEWHIP-17. The observations were executed as scheduled. No anomalies were reported. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 High, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.6 Completed FGS 5756 (Binary Plate Scale: Cycle 4 Calibration - Corrected) Fine Guidance Sensor #3 was used to make POS and TRANS mode astrometric observations of the binary star GSC2387-53 to calibrate the plate scale for the inner region of the field-of-view for FGS #3. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5372 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, Low Galactic Latitude, C-R Split) The WF/PC-2 was used to make low galactic latitude observations taken in parallel with the prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled in fine lock without apparent anomaly. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5092 (GTO Low Latitude Parallel Program: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations taken in parallel with the prime science observations. This is part of a survey to take pictures of a large number of fields within 30 degrees of the galactic plane. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.9 Completed WF/PC-2 5402 (Multiple Arc Systems in X-Ray Selected Clusters: Cycle 4 Medium) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain deep exposures of the X-Ray bright galaxy cluster MS0440.5+0 to look for gravitationally lensed objects that might be seen in the cluster. The observations completed with no reported errors. 1.10 Completed WF/PC-2 5571 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earthflats, Smaller Set) The WF/PC-2 was used to make several ultraviolet and narrow-band filter Earth flat calibration observations to correct for the telescope's illumination pattern. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 9 Successful : 9 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 16 Successful : 16 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: No anomaly reports for any onboard subsystem. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
