HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1296 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 364/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5159 (Imaging and Spectroscopy of the Nearby QSO2130+099: Cycle 4 Baseline) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of nearby quasi-stellar object QSO2130+09. The observations were completed as schedule, and no problems were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot images of radio galaxy 3C442.0 as part of a continuum survey and to study the galaxy's morphology. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5408 (Star Cluster and CNO Abundance in Blue Compact Galaxies With Extreme) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the star formation regions within the low metallicity blue compact galaxy SBS0125-06 to be used to determine the size, color, and luminosity of imbedded star clusters. There was one guide star recentering event reported which lasted for a total of three seconds. No other anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5464 (A Study of the AGB in Local Bulge Populations) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the stellar bulge in galaxy NGC-224-2 to make a survey of its stellar population. The observations were completed as expected, and no problems were reported. 1.5 Completed Two Sets of FOS/BL 5658 (White Dwarf Calibration) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make absolute sensitivity calibrations of the detectors using standard white dwarf stars HZ43 and GD153. The observations were executed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5369 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 made a series of observations of high latitude objects as part of a medium deep sky survey. The observations were taken in parallel with other prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies: A PC Snapshot Imaging) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the core region of galaxy NGC-4559 to provide statistics on the nuclear cusps, stellar condensations, and inner stellar disks and dust lanes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed FOS/RD 5512 (Cores of Early Type Galaxies: Part II) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to obtain rotational profiles and velocity dispersions around the core of galaxy NGC-3115-NU. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 2 Successful : 2 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 13 Successful : 13 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 3 Successful : 3 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: No significant anomalies were noted. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
