The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.10 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies: A PC Snapshot Imaging) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the core region of galaxies NGC-4389, NGC-1744 and NGC-4623 to provide statistics on the nuclear cusps, stellar condensations, and inner stellar disks and dust lanes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.11 Completed WF/PC-2 5505 (Deep Probes of Gravitational Lens Systems) The WF/PC-2 was used to attempt to make deep images of the elliptical galaxy 0023+171 which is a member of the Coma Cluster. The intent was to improve our understanding of the stellar populations in ellipticals and to determine the distance to the Coma Cluster. The baseline guide star acquisition failed, probably because the Fixed Head Star Tracker updates that preceded it failed. The Take Data Flag (TDF) remained down. The shutters toggled at the start of the observations, but closed immediately. HSTAR 5100 was written. (See Ops Note 2.1) 1.12 Completed FOS/BL 5179 (Stellar Winds in M-31, M-33: Cycle 4) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make spectrographic observations of the OB class star M33-N604-S which in located in the galaxy M-31. The objective is to study stellar wind phenomena, stellar temperatures, and ultraviolet extinction. The observations were executed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.13 Completed WF/PC-2 5475 (A Snapshot Survey for Blue Stragglers in Magellanic Cluster Cores) The WF/PC-2 was used to make short exposure snapshot images of the blue straggler stars located in populous cluster NGC-176. The intent is to find out if blue straggler stars exist within this cluster. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.14 Completed Two Sets of FOC/96 5670 (FOC Internal Relative Calibrations) The Faint Object Camera was used to make internal flat calibration images. The relative pixel to pixel response of the FOC field of view was measured using the onboard LEDs. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.15 Completed WF/PC-2 5563 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration Monitor 1: UV /OPT STD.) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric calibration images o ultraviolet standard star GRW+70D582 and monitor the photometric stability and quantum efficiency of the WF/PC-2. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.16 Completed WF/PC-2 5629 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration Monitor 1C: 4-Chip STD in F170W) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric calibration observations of the ultraviolet standard star GRW+70D582. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.17 Completed FOS/96 5420 (Color-Magnitude Diagrams of globular clusters in M-31: Cycle 4 Medium) The Faint Object Spectrograph (F/96) was used to make spectrographic observations of the globular cluster G280 which is located in galaxy M-31 (aka, the Andromeda Galaxy). This is to help build a color-magnitude diagram of globular clusters within this galaxy. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.18 Completed FGS 5337 (Linking the HIPPARCOS to the Extragalactic Reference Frame: NEWHIP-C) The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations of NEWEGOC-45, 220-REF, 221-REF, 222-REF, NEWHIP-45 to help tie the HIPPARCOS and extra-galactic reference frames together. 1.19 Completed WF/PC-2 5124 (Imaging and Spectrometry of Seyfert Nuclei: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of clouds in nuclear region of Seyfert galaxy NGC-4261.
