HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1317 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z Daily Status Report as of 032/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5746 (High Spatial Resolution Imaging and Polarization of AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make high resolution polarized images of the AGN within IRAS04210 to provide information about the central source which is hidden behind obscuring matter. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of IR0457-756, MARK1469, HFP62 and MARK1066 to study the interactions between the central engine, the stars, and the interstellar matter in their AGNs. The baseline guide star acquisition for one observation failed to single star course track. There may have been some motion around a point centered on the guide star position in FGS #3. (See Note 2.1) No other anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 5574 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4: Polarization Proposal) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of G191B2B to obtain both polarized and unpolarized images of the target to calibrate the instrument. A visual flat observation was also taken. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 6139 (SINS: The Supernova Intensity Study: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of supernova SN-1993J to study the development of the supernova and its circumstellar matter. There was one guide star recentering event reported to have lasted for a total of four seconds. Also, the baseline guide star acquisition for one observation failed to single star course track. There may have been some motion around a point centered on the guide star position in FGS #3. (See Note 2.1) 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5104 (Peculiar and Interacting Galaxies: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of galaxy NGC-4476. The OSS monitored the observations, and assessed the data quality. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.6 Completed FOC/96 5526 (FOC UV Throughput Monitoring: Cycle 4) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make calibration observations of ultraviolet standard star BPM16274, to monitor the ultraviolet throughput of the HST-FOC. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 7 Successful : 7 At 031/2147Z and 032/1028Z failure of fine lock to coarse track.
