HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1352 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 03/21/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 03/22/95 Daily Status Report as of 081/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed GHRS/2 5473 (The Interstellar Abundance of Krypton: Cycle 4 High) The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make observations of the star Epsilon Perius which is an O/B class star to study the abundance of krypton to provide information about stellar nucleosynthesis and stellar evolution. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.2 Completed FOC/96 5469 (Externally Illuminated Proto-Stellar Disks and Naked Jets) The WF/PC-2 was used to make high resolution observations of young stellar objects and proto-planetary disks in NGC-1976 (aka, The Orion Nebula). The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 1.3 Completed FGS 5686 (Ultra High Resolution Studies of AGNs with the FGS: Cycle 4 Carryover) The FGS#3 was used in the TRANS mode to make astrometric observations of AGN 3C273 which is known to have a milliarcsec structure in their nuclei at radio wavelengths. If any structure is found, more observations will be made to look for signs of superluminal motion. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5369 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 made a series of observations of high latitude objects as part of a medium deep sky survey. The observations were taken in parallel with other prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed FOS/BL 5736 (Post Asymptotic Giant Brach Evolution in the Magellanic Clouds) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make spectrographic observations of the planetary nebula LMC-SMP7 which is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. This is to study the post asymptotic grant branch evolution in the Magellanic Cloud. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 3 Successful : 3 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 9 Successful : 9 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 7 Successful : 7 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: Aside from the continuing data inversions during STGT operations, no operational problems were reported. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END- Return-path: Received: from stsci.edu (marvel.stsci.edu) by avion.stsci.edu (PMDF V4.2-13 #4188) id <01HOFOGXRCTCAW2BV9@avion.stsci.edu>; Wed, 22 Mar 1995 11:38:29 EST Received: from mnb2.fss-moses.lockheed.com by stsci.edu (5.x/SMI-SVR4-DNI-8.0) id AA00983; Wed, 22 Mar 1995 11:37:05 -0500 Date: Wed, 22 Mar 1995 11:31:49 -0500 From: Wolf_Charlie Subject: DAILY REPORT #1352 To: a1 , a2 , b1 , burch , c1 , c2 , c5 , c6 , c7 , d2 , d4 , f1 , f4 , h1 , h2 , h7 , hstbb1 <#HST_Bulletin_Board_at_440/441/442-B8PO@ccmail.gsfc.nasa.gov>, hstoms <#HST_Bulletin_Board_at_510@ccmail.gsfc.nasa.gov>, k1 , k2 , l2 , l3 , l4 , l5 , m4 , m5 , n1 , o1 , p4 , p5 , r1 , r4 , r5 , r6 , s1 , s3 , s4 , s5 , t1 , TWELE@stsci.edu, w1 , w2 , w3 , w5 , w6 , Chapman_Bob , Leibee_Jack To: Stull_Gene , Whittier_Wally Message-id: X-Envelope-to: fraher, sobieski, twele X-Mailer: Mail*Link SMTP-MS 3.0.1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT
