The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed GHRS/2 5422 (Neutral Gas in Blue Compact Galaxies: Population III or Recent Pollution) The High Resolution Spectrograph was used to make measurements of the metallicity of the H II regions in blue compact galaxy UGC-9560. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed FGS 6151 (Masses of Per-main Sequence Stars: Cycle 4 GO/CAL) The FGSs were used to make observations of the pre-main sequence binary star SAO185689 located in the Taurus star forming region. The FGS data will provide the apparent orbits needed to compute the total mass of the system. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed FGS 6147 (Extragalactic Astronomy and Astrophysics Final: Cycle 4 Observations) The FGSs were used to make observations of targets 1418+546IN, 620-REF, 621-REF, 622-REF, INCA221-97. The objective of this long-term program is to determine the rotation of the HIPPARCOS reference relative to the extragalactic frame. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 5397 (Determination of the Extragalactic Distance Scale: Cycle 4 High) The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of galaxy NGC-4414 to be used in measuring the periods of Cepheid variable stars within this galaxy. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.9 Completed Three Sets of FOS/BL 6146 (FOS Location of Spectra and Aperture - Part 2) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to conduct a test to determine the repeatability of positioning the filter-grating wheel. All observations were internal. A wave length calibration image was also taken. All observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.10 Completed WF/PC-2 5493 (Synoptic Monitoring of Seasonal Phenomena on Mars: Cycle 4 Medium) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the planet Mars at selected seasons, looking for periodic changes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.11 Completed Four Sets of WF/PC-2 5132 (A Photometric Search for Planets of Nearby Stars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric observations of nearby stars HD128620, HD90839, HD128621, and Proxima-Cen to search for possible planets. The exposure time was calculated so that area beyond 1.2 arcseconds from the central star is not saturated. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.12 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of MS1110+221 to study the interactions between the central engine, the stars, and the interstellar matter in the AGN. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.13 Completed FOS/BL 5095 (Spectra at Lambda <3000 Angstroms for QSOs with Z~2 (FOS 3): Cycle 4) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make ultraviolet spectral observations of the absorption lines and high-ionization emission lines in B21225+317. A wavelength calibration image was also taken. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were noted. 1.14 Completed WF/PC-2 6142 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Earth Flats, Smaller Set Part II) The WF/PC-2 was used to make Earth Flat calibration images for the ultraviolet and narrow-band filters to correct for the telescope's illumination pattern. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.15 Completed FOS/RD 5664 (Quasar Absorption Line Survey: Cycle 4 High) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make spectrographic observations of quasi-stellar object Q1101-264 to look for absorption lines due to gas in the intergalactic medium and galactic halos. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.16 Completed WF/PC-2 5369 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 made a series of observations of high latitude objects as part of a medium deep sky survey. The observations were taken in parallel with other prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.17 Completed GHRS/2 5466 (The Interaction Between Io and The Plasma Torus) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make Echelle spectrographic observations of the plasma torus which is a result of the interaction of the planet Jupiter and its moon Io.
