HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1374 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 04/20/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 04/21/95 Daily Status Report as of 111/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed FOS/BL 6146 (FOS Location of Spectra and Aperture - Part 2) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to conduct a test to determine the repeatability of positioning the filter-grating wheel. All observations were internal. A wave length calibration image was also taken. All observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5699 (A Study of the Arcsecond Gravitational Lens 1422+321: Cycle 4 Carryover) The WF/PC-2 was used to make arcsecond fine observations of the gravitational lens system QSO1424P23. The WF/PC-2 images will be used to locate the target for future FOS observations. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5370 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, High Galactic Latitude) The WF/PC-2 was used in parallel with the prime science observations to make high galactic latitude observations as part of a medium-deep sky survey. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5479 (Subarcsecond Structure in Nearby AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot observations of the nearby active galactic nuclei of MARK766 and MARK1325 to study the interactions between the central engine, the stars, and the interstellar matter in these AGNs. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5397 (Determination of the Extragalactic Distance Scale: Cycle 4 High) The WF/PC-2 was used to make images of galaxy NGC4725 to be used in measuring the periods of Cepheid variable stars within this galaxy. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 10 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 9 Successful : 9 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: There were no reported operational problems. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: The Flight Software (Version 9.5/ Co-processor and DF-224 Sections) is scheduled to be uplinked to the spacecraft this afternoon (Friday, April 21, 1995), and will be initiated on Sunday April 23, 1995 at 113/1000Z. /DMH -END-
