HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1378 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 04/26/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 04/27/95 Daily Status Report as of 117/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed FOS/RD/GHRS/2/FOC/96 6152 (Spring 1995 Heptathlon) The relative positions of the science instruments were measured (i.e., S-Spectr1, S-Spect2, S-FOC96, SFGS-Ref, WFC-Center) to determine the focal plate scale, and to assess the stability of the focal plane and the FGSs. Stars in astrometric cluster M-35 were used for these observations. The observations were executed as scheduled and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5372 (HST Medium-Deep Survey: Cycle 4 Medium, Low Galactic Latitude, C-R Split) The WF/PC-2 was used to make low galactic latitude observations taken in parallel with the prime science observations. The observations were completed as scheduled in fine lock without apparent anomaly. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot images of radio galaxy 3C433.0 as part of a continuum survey and to study the galaxy's morphology. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed GHRS/2 5389 (The Nature of Interstellar Cloud Envelopes: Physical Conditions) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make observations of star HD147933 to study the nature of the interstellar cloud envelopes in the line of sight of the star. There was a guide star acquisition failure at 116/0858. No guide star was found, and the system did not fall back into coarse track. Subsequent reacquisitions also failed. The analysis of the failure is under investigation. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies: A PC Snapshot Imaging) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the core region of galaxy NGC-4212 to provide statistics on the nuclear cusps, stellar condensations, and inner stellar disks and dust lanes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed GHRS/2 5405 (The High Mass White Dwarf in HR8210: Cycle 4 High) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make spectrographic observations of the high mass white dwarf star HD204188. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Apr 26 95, 116/11:00:00 - Apr 27 95,117/11:00:00Z Scheduled Acquisitions : 2 Successful : 2 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 3 (See note 1.4 for details on reacquisition failures.) 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 8 Successful : 8 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: Battery #3 continues to re-charge. 3.0 ANOMALY STATUS: 3.1 Significant New Anomalies: None 3.2 Significant Unresolved Anomalies: None 4.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
