HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1410 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 06/12/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 06/13/95 Daily Status Report as of 164/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5562 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor 3: Darks) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain several 30-minute long, dark exposures to provide ongoing calibration of the CCD dark current and to monitor and characterize the evolution of hot pixels. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 5446 (The Nuclei of Nearby S0 and Spiral Galaxies: A PC Snapshot Imaging) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the core region of galaxies NGC-1401 and NGC-1380A to provide statistics on their nuclear cusps, stellar condensations, and inner stellar disks and dust lanes. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed GHRS/1 5595 (GHRS ECH-A Wavelength Monitor: Cycle 4) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side 1) was used to make wavelength spectral lamp calibration observations to measure the instrumental characteristics of the Echelle-A spectrograph. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed GHRS/2 5457 (Measurement of Atomic Deuterium and Molecular Hydrogen) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make observations of radio galaxy 3C286 to make measurements of its atomic deuterium and Molecular Hydrogen. At the end of this series of 175 exposures there will be an accumulation of almost 12 hours of observation time. They hope to obtain a signal to noise ratio per resolution element of seven. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no observations were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 0 Successful : 0 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 13 Successful : 13 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 1 Successful : 1 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: No operational problems were reported. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
