HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1415 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 06/19/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 06/20/95 Daily Status Report as of 171/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot images of radio galaxy 3C44.0 as part of a continuum survey and to study the galaxy's morphology. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5562 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor 3: Darks) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain several 30-minute long, dark exposures to provide ongoing calibration of the CCD dark current and to monitor and characterize the evolution of hot pixels. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 6294 (Determination of the Extragalactic Distance Scale) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy NGC-7331 to measure the period of individual Cepheid stars to determine the extragalactic distance scale. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5236 (Nuclei of Nearby Normal Galaxies: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the nuclear region in nearby galaxy NGC-224 to obtain luminosity and color gradients, and to search for bright stars, globular clusters, and interstellar dust. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 3 Successful : 3 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 7 Successful : 7 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 9 Successful : 9 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: There was a non-recoverable loss of one minute five seconds of real-time engineering data during STGT operations. The reason is currently unknown. A TTR was written to document the event. The ground system uneventfully transitioned to a new High Rate Switch system at 170/1340Z. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
