The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5981 (Calibration of Nearby Type IA Supernova as Standard Candles: NGC-4639) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of Cepheid variable stars in Galaxy NGC-4639 (which has produced a Type IA Supernova) to calibrate the nova's absolute brightness so that it can be used as a standard candle for distance measurements. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5848 (The Nuclear Disk in the E4 Galaxy NGC-7052) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the E4 class radio galaxy NGC-7052 to study its nuclear disk and the kinematics of the gas near the nucleus. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.) 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5560 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor. 1) The WF/PC-2 was used to make several internal bias, K-Spot, and flat calibration observations to monitor the CCD camera electronics, the optical alignment, and to check for contamination. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5236 (Nuclei of Nearby Normal Galaxies: Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of nearby galaxy 2237+0305 to obtain luminosity and color gradients, and to search for bright stars, globular clusters, and interstellar dust. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed FOS/BL 6146 (FOS Location of Spectra and Aperture - Part 2) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to conduct a test to determine the repeatability of positioning the filter-grating wheel. All observations were internal. A wave length calibration image was also taken. All observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5476 (Continuum Snapshots of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot images of radio galaxy 3C66.0 as part of a continuum survey and to study the galaxy's morphology. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed FOC/96 6130 (FOC Observations of SN 1987A) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make near ultraviolet objective prism observations of the supernova SN1987A. Both the supernova envelope and the circumstellar ring will be studied. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.9 Completed WF/PC-2 6033 (Parallel High Resolution Imaging of Defuse Objects in the Magellanic Clouds) The WF/PC-2 was used to make parallel images of a variety of defuse objects located in the Magellanic Clouds. The observations were primarily in the Balmer lines and stronger forbidden lines, with supplemental continuum images. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no problems were reported. 1.10 Completed FOS/BL 5539 (Cycle 4 FOS Photometric Monitor) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) used standard star BD+28D4211 to calibrate the absolute sensitivity of its detectors. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.11 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 6251 (Medium Deep Survey - Crafting Test) The WF/PC-2 was used in this continuation of the medium deep survey. The proposal is targeting rare objects (lenses, peculiar galaxies, faint stars) and sources related to the faint blue galaxy problem. This observation was completed with no reported problems. 1.12 Completed GHRS/2 5547 (GHRS Side 2 Detector Calibrations: Cycle 4) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side 2) was used to make dark, and internal flat calibration images to help check the stability of the detectors. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.13 Completed FOC/96 5842 (A Search for Ice at the Poles of Ceres) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make observations of the asteroid 1-Ceres at three ultraviolet wavelengths. The purpose is to test for the presence of water ice on the surface near the polar regions of this asteroid. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.14 Completed WF/PC-2 5714 (Imaging of UV Bright Stars in Metal Rich Globular Clusters) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the metal rich globular cluster NGC-6352. The target was searched with three filters to search for ultraviolet bright stars and to determine their luminocites and temperatures. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.15 Completed GHRS/2 5837 (Ultraviolet Imaging and Spectroscopy of the Icy Galilean Satellites) The GHRS/2 was used to make ultraviolet observations of Jupiter's moon Ganymede to study the albedo features caused by SO2 absorption. These observations will be coordinated with the IUE spacecraft and other ground based observations. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.16 Completed FGS 6063 (Continuation of Mass Ratio Determination for Doubles) The Fine Guidance Sensors were used to make POS and TRANS mode astrometric observations of double star L722-22-00. This binary star system contains a low mass star and a brown dwarf. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.17 Completed GHRS/1 5594 (GHRS Side 1 Sensitivity Monitor: Cycle 4) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used to make calibration observations of star BD28D4211 to monitor the long-term sensitivity of the system.
