HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1426 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 07/05/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 07/06/95 Daily Status Report as of 187/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed S/C 5582 (FOC/48 Monthly Activation (Camera Section Only): Cycle 4) This proposal was executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed Two Sets of FOC/96 5941 (HST Medium Deep Survey - Crafting Test) The Faint Object Camera was used to make observations of the jet in the nuclear region of galaxy M-86 looking for changes in the jet since last year. Proper motions in the jet should be detectable in this time span. A dark and an internal flat calibration images were also taken. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6251 (Medium Deep Survey - Crafting Test) The WF/PC-2 was used in this continuation of the medium deep survey. The proposal is targeting rare objects (lenses, peculiar galaxies, faint stars) and sources related to the faint blue galaxy problem. This observation was completed with no reported problems. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 6228 (Young Globular Clusters in Interacting and Cooling Flow Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galaxy cluster Abell-2597 looking for young globular clusters. Very deep exposures were made of the target to attempt to distinguish between its two possible formation histories. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 6143 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration: Smaller Set, Part II) The WF/PC-2 was used to make single CCD calibration observations of standard star GRW+70D582 to monitor the photometric stability and quantum efficiency of the PC1 and WF3. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 7 Successful : 7 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 14 Successful : 14 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: There were no reported operational problems. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
