HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1430 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 07/11/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 07/12/95 Daily Status Report as of 193/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6254 (GTO Pure Parallel Program - Cycle 5) The WF/PC-2 was used to make some long exposure observations taken in parallel with the prime science observations. These were a random sample of high galactic latitude fields. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5562 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor 3: Darks) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain several 30-minute long, dark exposures to provide ongoing calibration of the CCD dark current and to monitor and characterize the evolution of hot pixels. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5864 (Mass Loading Stellar Winds in Hydrogen-Poor Planetary Nebulae) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the hydrogen-poor planetary nebula PK81-14D1 (aka, Abell 78) to study its stellar winds and the interaction with the nebula. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 5560 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Calibration: Internal Monitor. 1) The WF/PC-2 was used to make several internal bias, K-Spot, and flat calibration observations to monitor the CCD camera electronics, the optical alignment, and to check for contamination. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 6131 (Brown Dwarf Binaries in the Pleiades) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of brown dwarf binary stars in the Pleiades (aka, M-45). It is hoped to confirm the duplicity of these suspected binaries. The observations were completed and schedules, and no anomalies were reported. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5832 (Synoptic Monitoring of Seasonal Phenomena on Mars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make synoptic monitoring observations of the Planet Mars looking for seasonal phenomena. A variety of filters were used. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 8 Successful : 8 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 16 Successful : 16 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: The Battery #1 Capacity Test is still ongoing. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
