HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1436 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 07/19/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 07/20/95 Daily Status Report as of 201/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 5957 (Snapshot of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations for radio galaxy 3C433.0 to study the morphology of the radio galaxy. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed FGS 6177 (Intermediate Plate Scale Calibration) The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations of stars HD65949, 4727-25, 4727-J-REF, et al. to perform an intermediate plate scale calibration in the central region of the FGS. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5971 (HST Medium Deep Survey) The WF/PC-2 was used to make long exposure medium deep sky survey observations at latitudes larger than 10 degrees taken in parallel with the prime science observations. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 6218 (Io's Surface, Atmosphere, and Plasma Torus) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of Jupiter's moon Io's plasma torus to study structures which might not be visible in ground based observations. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.5 Completed GHRS/2 6068 (Gamma Draconis: Transition Region and Coronal Activity) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make observations of star HD164058 (aka, Gamma Draconis) to study its transition region and coronal activity. This is the only example of a single star with a hybrid chromosphere. That is, a star with a cool stellar wind, and a hot transition region. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 4 Successful : 4 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 12 Successful : 12 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 6 Successful : 6 2.3 Significant HSTARs: None 2.4 Operations Notes: No operational problems were reported. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
