HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1441 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 07/26/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 07/27/95 Daily Status Report as of 208/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 6119 (Snapshot Survey for Companions of Planetary Nebula Nuclei) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of planetary nebula NGC-5882 to study its nuclei and to look for possible companions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed Two Sets of FGS 6037 (Continuation of an Astrometric Search for Planetary Companions to Proxima-Cent) The FGSs were used in the POS mode to make astrometric observations of the star Proxima-Cent and a sub-set of eight reference stars. This is to look for the presence of a planetary companion. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5971 (HST Medium Deep Survey) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a long exposure medium deep sky survey observations at latitudes larger than 10 degrees taken in parallel with the prime science observations. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted 1.4 Completed FOS/RD 5852 (Lyman-alpha Forest Cloud Sizes and Clustering at Z~0.5) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make spectrographic observations of QSO MC1146+111 to study its Lyman-Alpha forest and its relation to other nearby QSOs. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5629 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 4 Photometric Calibration Monitor 1C: 4-Chip STD in F170W) The WF/PC-2 was used to make photometric calibration observations of the ultraviolet standard star GRW+70D582. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5957 (Snapshot of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of radio galaxy 3C305.0 to study the morphology of the radio galaxy. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed GHRS/1 5893 (Deuterium in the Local Interstellar Medium Toward Hot Stars) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used to measure the Deuterium to Hydrogen ratio in the local interstellar medium toward the hot, white dwarf star G191-B2B. Measurements of the Lyman Alpha and other interstellar absorption lines were made. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 15 Successful : 15 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 9 Successful : 9 2.3 Operations Notes: A timing problem at STGT caused six minutes of unrecoverable engineering data loss. A TTR was written. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
