HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1466 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 08/30/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 08/31/95 Daily Status Report as of 243/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 6250 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: Internal Monitor) The WF/PC-2 was used to make internal bias, internal flat images and K-Spot calibrations to monitor the health of the cameras. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5970 (Exploring the Morphology of Cluster Galaxies at Redshift Z=3.4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of galactic cluster GAL-000328 at Z=3.4 in order to study its morphology. These galaxies in this cluster are known to have star forming regions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed FOS/RD 6167 (FOS Cycle 5: Dark Monitoring) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make several dark calibration images. All exposures were internals. All spectra was done in the image mode. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed COSTAR/U 6162 (FOC Cycle 5 PSF Monitoring) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make observations of a standard star and to monitor the point spread function of the COSTAR optical system. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 5779 (Miscellaneous - HH7-11 and Cyg Loop - Cycle 4) The WF/PC-2 was used to obtain images of HH7-11 and several regions in the Cygnus Loop. These observations will be used to study the morphology of the targets to look for motion in the bipolar outflow (HH7-11) and the supernova shock (NGC6995). The observations were completed with no reported anomalies. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 5998 (The Evolution of Massive Stars: Closing the Loop Observationally) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of (OB Class) massive star M-31-OB69 which is located in the Andromeda galaxy. The goal is to study the evolution of this class of massive stars. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 6119 (Snapshot Survey for Companions of Planetary Nebula Nuclei) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of planetary nebula A72 to study its nucleus and to look for possible companions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 8 Successful : 8 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 12 Successful : 12 2.3 Operations Notes: Via HSTAR 5263, OPUS reported that there was a loss of lock at 240/162734Z during WF/PC 5996, shortening one of the observations by 176 seconds. There was an approximate two minute non-recoverable loss of engineering data during STGT operations. The reason is currently unknown. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
