HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1499 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 10/18/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 10/19/95 Daily Status Report as of 292/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 6183 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: = Decon) The WF/PC-2 was used to make some internal flat, K-Spot, and dark = calibration images. The purpose is to define decontamination procedures = to be run during Cycle 5. The calibration observations were completed as = scheduled, and no anomalies were reported. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5904 (Primordial Mass Segregation and Main = Sequence Age Spreads in Young LMC Stars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of young cluster NGC-2004 = which is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud to study the primordial = mass segregation and the main sequence age spread of its young stars. The = observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 5916 (The Oldest Globular Clusters in the Large = Magellanic Cloud) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the metal poor = globular clusters NGC-1835 and NGC-2019 which are known to be the two = oldest globular clusters located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The = observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.4 Completed FOS/RD 6331 (Supernova Remnants and Nucleosynthesis (FOS = 30): Cycle 4 Aug. Carryover) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make = ultraviolet and optical observations of the supernova remnant SNR = 0519-69-OP located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. These data will be used = to study a number of interesting problems related to element creation and = grain destruction. The observations were executed as planned, and no = problems were reported. 1.5 Completed WF/P-2 6254 (GTO Pure Parallel Program - Cycle 5) The WF/PC-2 was use to make random long exposures of high galactic = fields taken in parallel with the prime science observations to obtain a = random sample of galaxies. The observations were executed as scheduled, = and no anomalies were noted. 1.6 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 6119 (Snapshot Survey for Companions = of Planetary Nebula Nuclei) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of = planetary nebula NGC- 3918 to study its nuclei and to look for possible = companions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 5 Successful : 5 2.3 Operations Notes: A TTR was written to document a data inversion which occurred during STGT operations. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
