HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1505 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 10/26/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 10/27/95 Daily Status Report as of 300/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 6114 (White Dwarf Distance and Precision Age for = the Globular Cluster 47 Tuc) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of white dwarf stars = WD0002+729 and WD0644+375 which are located in the globular cluster 47 Tuc = in order to study the clusters age and distance. This set of observations = will be used to determine the distance to 47 Tuc, hopefully to an accuracy = of better than 10%. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no = anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed FOS/RD 6080 (Rotation and Kinematics of Blue Stragglers in = 47 Tuc) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make = spectrographic observations for blue straggler stars located in 47 Tuc = (aka, NGC-104) in order to study their rotation and radial velocity of = these stars. As documented in HSTAR 5341, there was a failed FOS target = acquisition at 299/200919Z, due to the crowded star field, resulting in = two status buffer error messages. In addition, at 299/211055Z, there was = a loss of lock that lasted for three minutes, 11 seconds. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 2 Successful : 2 There was a three minute, 11 second loss of lock at 299/211055Z. Scheduled Reacquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 0 Successful : 0 2.3 Operations Notes: There were no reported operational problems. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
