Internal flats, biases, and K-Spot calibration images were = taken. These observations are designed to monitor the health of the = cameras. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 1.11 Completed FOC/96 6113 (Searching for Low Mass Stars: The Mass = Function ) The Faint Object Camera (f/96) was used to make observations of = globular cluster NGC-6809 to search for very low mass (VLM) stars. From IUE data it was found that the flux ratio, A/B = varies significantly on a time scale of two weeks. The observations were = executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.13 Completed Two Sets of GHRS/1 6070 (Interstellar Tin: Probing = Galactic S-Process Element Enrichment) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used to make = Echelle A observations of stars HD47839 and HD37128 in order to probe for = interstellar tin and to study the galactic S-process neutron capture of = element enrichment. The observations were completed as planned, and no = problems were reported. 1.14 Completed GHRS/1 5945 (Diffuse Helium Absorption as a Probe of = Quasar History) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used to make = observations of diffuse helium absorption lines in the spectra of quasar = Q0302-0019 to confirm the detection of intergalactic helium by the FOC. = The observations were completed as planned and no anomalies were reported. 1.15 Completed FGS 6054 (FGS Observations of Halo Population Binaries) The FGSs were used in the TRANS mode to make astrometric = observations of the spectroscopic binary star HD20039. HSTAR 5356 was written to document this event. Scheduled Reacquisitions : 25 Successful : 25 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 46 Successful : 46 2.3 Operations Notes: While analyzing data last week, it was discovered that on = 303/041700Z, during a slew from 78.45 degrees to 69.0 degrees, the + wing = overshot the destination position by 3.5 degrees. The profile of the slew = indicates a possible low-order bit upset. Dornier is reviewing the data. = The event is being tracked on HSTAR 5351.
