HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1512 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 11/06/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 11/07/95 Daily Status Report as of 311/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 6119 (Snapshot Survey for Companions of Planetary = Nebula Nuclei) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of = planetary nebula IC2149 to study its nuclei and to look for possible = companions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 5924 (Nuclear Emission Line Region Associated = with Compact Flat Spectrum) The WF/PC-2 was used to make spectrographic observations of the = nuclear emission region of galaxy NGC-3894 to study its compact flat = spectrum. There is evidence that this jet-produced AGN is powered by = accretion disks feeding massive black hole. As documented in HSTAR 5356, = during this proposal, the FGS acquisition failed to fine lock backup on = FGS-3 only. No other anomalous activity was noted. 1.3 Completed GHRS/1/2 5739 (Ultraviolet Spectroscopy of High Latitude = Molecular Cloud: Carryover) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Sides One and Two) was used to = make ultraviolet spectrographic observations of B3V class standard star = HD210121 (V=3D7.67) in order to measure the high latitude molecular cloud = in the line of sight to that star. A wavelength calibration image was = also taken. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 1.4 Completed S/C 5582 (FOC/48 Monthly Activation (Camera Section = Only): Cycle 4) This proposal was executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were = noted. 1.5 Completed FGS 6049 (Monitoring the Size and Shape of Mira Type = Stars) The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations of the Mira = class star HD847748 in order to study its size and shape during different = phases of its pulsation cycle. The observations were completed as = planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 6253 (Pure Parallel Archive Program) The WF/PC-2 was used to execute a pure parallel program taking = ultraviolet observations running concurrently with prime science = observations. The intent is to search for extra-galactic sources with = flux excesses at 3000 A0 and galactic sources with excesses at 1600 A0. = The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5978 (Host Galaxy of Distant Radio Quasars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the host galaxy of = distant radio-loud quasar QSO-1034+3. The observations were executed as = scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 10 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 10 Successful : 10 2.3 Operations Notes: There were no reported operational problems. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
