HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1513 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 11/07/95 - 0000Z (UTC) 11/08/95 Daily Status Report as of 312/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed WF/PC-2 6303 (Observations of Galaxies Underlying = Quasars) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of low red shift quasar = IR0759+650 in order to study its underlying galaxy. The purpose is to = detect structure down to the 0.1 arcsecond level. The observations were = completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.2 Completed GHRS/2 6065 (ZAMS Atmospheric Structure as a Function of = Rotation) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make = emission line spectrographic observations of the zero-age main sequence = (ZAMS) star HD197890 in order to study its atmospheric structure as a = function of rotation. Wavelength calibrations, internal flats, and dark = calibration images were also taken. The observations were executed as = scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed FOS/RD 6014 (Spectroscopic Observations of Close Binary T = Tauri Stars) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make = spectrographic observations of the T-Tauri class binary star GG-Tau-A. = >From these data the mass of each star in the system can be determined. = The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.4 Completed WF/PC-2 6187 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: Earth Flats) The WF/PC-2 was used to make Earth-streak flat calibration images. = These streak flats will be used to produce flat fields, to map the OTA = illumination pattern and, in combination with other data, to produce new = superflats. The observations were completed as planned, and no problems = were reported. 1.5 Completed WF/PC-2 6253 (Pure Parallel Archive Program) The WF/PC-2 was used to execute a pure parallel program taking = ultraviolet observations running concurrently with prime science = observations. The intent is to search for extra-galactic sources with = flux excesses at 3000 A0 and galactic sources with excesses at 1600 A0. = The observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.6 Completed WF/PC-2 6250 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 5 Calibration: Internal = Monitor) The WF/PC-2 was used to make a series on internal calibration = observations. Internal flats, biases, and K-Spot calibration images were = taken. These observations are designed to monitor the health of the = cameras. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 1.7 Completed WF/PC-2 5957 (Snapshot of 3CR Radio Galaxies) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations for radio galaxy 3C207.0 = to study the morphology of the radio galaxy. The observations were = executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed GHRS/1 5871 (Rapid UV Variability: The Contribution of = Flare Heating) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side One) was used in the rapid = mode to make ultraviolet spectrographic observations of the late-type star = HD82558 which has an active chromosphere to study the rapid variability of = its emission lines. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no = problems were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 6 Successful : 6 One acquisition, at 312/051449Z, failed to fine lock back-up on FGS-2 only. The following reacquisition experienced the same result. HSTAR 5358 documented these events. Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 10 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 10 Successful : 10 2.3 Operations Notes: There were no reported operational problems. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH -END-
