HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE DAILY REPORT #1610 PERIOD COVERED: 0000Z (UTC) 04/10/96 - 0000Z (UTC) 04/11/96 Daily Status Report as of 102/0000Z 1.0 ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED: 1.1 Completed Two Sets of FOS/RD 5823 (Uranus: Ringlet Kinematics and = Atmospheric Structures) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make high = resolution spectrographic observations of the planet Uranus, its moon = Titania, and a ringlet segment as part of a set of observations for a = background star that passed through the Uranian System. The observations = will provide information about the planet's atmosphere and its rings. = The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed FOS 5696 (Globular Cluster Core Structure and Dynamics = (FOS 36) - Cycle 4 Carryover) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make = ultraviolet observations of a ultraviolet bright star located in the = globular cluster NGC1851 in order to study its core structure and = dynamics. The objective is to obtain data on the stellar populations in = the central core of the globular cluster. The observations were = completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.3 Completed GHRS/2/1 6275 (Heavy Element Abundances and Isotope = Anomalies in HR7775 and Chi Lupi) The high Resolution Spectrograph (Sides One and Two) were used to = make observations of the Hg-Mn (mercury-manganese) class star HD193452 = (aka, HR7775) in order to study its chemical abundances and isotope = anomalies. This star is known to exhibit unusual heavy element = abundances. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no = problems were reported. 2.0 FLIGHT OPERATIONS SUMMARY: 2.1 Guide Star Acquisitions: Scheduled Acquisitions : 5 Successful : 5 Scheduled Reacquisitions : 10 Successful : 10 2.2 FHST Updates: Scheduled : 11 Successful : 11 2.3 Operations Notes: Upon the conclusion of the SM2 simulation of EVA #3, operations = personnel returned to the MOR from the SAMS backup facility at = approximately 102/0130Z. 3.0 SIGNIFICANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS: Nothing at this time. /DMH
