The observations = were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.2 Completed GHRS/2 6599 (Boron in Halo Giants: A Solution to the D+3 = He Crisis in Big Bang Nucleus) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make = spectrographic observations of the boron abundances of giant halo star = HD18907. Comparison of the abundances among other stars of the same type = will allow the investigator to determine whether mass loss or mixing = causes the low Carbon-12/ Carbon-13 ratios seen in these type stars. As = documented in HSTAR 5872, the acquisition for this proposal (at = 010/0325Z) failed to fine lock on FGS #1 only. Othewise, the = observations were executed as scheduled, and no effects on science were = reported. 1.3 Completed WF/PC-2 6361 (High Resolution Imaging of X-Ray Selected = AGNs) The WF/PC-2 was used to make high resolution observations of the = known low red shifted x-ray active galactic nuclius (AGN) MS0007.1-0. = These data will allow a study of the optical properties of an unbiased = sample of AGN host galaxies. The observations were completed as = scheduled, and no problems were reported. 1.4 Completed FOS/BL 6892 (Globular Cluster Core Structure and = Dynamics (FOS 36) - Part 2) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make = ultraviolet spectrographic observations of the globular cluster NGC-1851 = in order to study its stellar population, core structure and dynamics. = The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.5 Completed Four Sets of WF/PC-2 6253 (Pure Parallel Archive = Program) The WF/PC-2 was used to execute a pure parallel program taking = ultraviolet observations running concurrently with prime science = observations. The intent is to search for extra-galactic sources with flu= x excesses at 3000 A0 and galactic sources with excesses at 1600 A0. The = observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.6 Completed FGS 6479 (Masses of Low Luminosity Hyades Cluster = Members) The FGSs were used to make astrometric observations of low = luminosity star VA351 which is a member to the Hyades Cluster. This = cluster, owing to its nearness, richness, and young age, occupies a = pivotal role in the studies of star formation and stellar populations. = The observations were executed as planned, and no anomalies were = reported. 1.7 Completed Two Sets of FOS/BL 5515 (Eclipse Mapping of the = Touchstone Systems CM-Dra Cycle 4 Medium) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used in the rapid = mode to make observations of the Touchstone System CM-Draconis (aka, = GL630.1) to do eclipse mapping. The objective is to map the upper = atmosphere of the M4Ve class component of CM Dra by measuring the = disappearance of light during the eclipse of the secondary. The observati= ons were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.8 Completed WF/PC-2 6653 (Kinematics of Ionized Gas in the Dusty = Nuclear Disk in NGC-6251) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the dusty nuclear = disk and nuclear region of galaxy NGC-6251 in order to study the = kinematics of its ionized gas. The data will be used to study the = morphology and dynamics of the ionized gas in the nuclear disk. The = observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.9 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 6908 (WF/PC-2 Cycle 6 Cal: UV = Flat) The WF/PC-2 was used to make ultraviolet flats and dark = calibration images as part of a Cycle 6 Calibration Plan. The = observations were executed as planned, and no anomalies were reported. 1.10 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 6610 (WF/PC-2 Lyman-Alpha Imaging = of Galaxy cluster at Z =3D 2.4) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of an apparent blank = field-of-view hoping to make Lyman-Alpha observations of faint galaxies = located at a distance of Z =3D 2.4. Earlier exposures revealed many = compact Lyman-Alpha emitters at this distance. These observations were = executed in parallel with the prime science observations. The = observations were completed as planned, and no problems were reported. 1.11 Completed WF/PC-2 7211 (WF/PC-2 Pre-SM97 UV Baseline = Observation.) The WF/PC-2 was used to make far-ultraviolet observations of CVZ = Class target WD0134+833 as part of a pre-observation baseline of SM97 = (WF/PC-2 SMOV Calibration). The observations were completed as = scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.12 Completed WF/PC-2 6346 (Snapshot Survey of the Ultraluminous IRAS = Galaxy Sample-Part 1 High) The WF/PC-2 was used to make snapshot survey observations of the = ultraluminous IRAS galaxy QDOTULIR04. These data will be searched for = multiple cores, which imply a merger has occurred, and for starburst = regions. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies = were noted. 1.13 Completed FOS/48 6304 (Long Slit Spectroscopy of the Nuclear = Region of a Sample Nearby Radio Galaxies) The Faint Object Camera (f/48) will be used to make long-slit = spectra of the nuclear region of the nearby Seyfert radio galaxy = PKS2158-38. The objective is to study the interaction of the galaxy's = radio jet with the interstellar medium. An internal flat and a dark = calibration image were also taken. The observations were executed as = scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.14 Completed WF/P-2 6254 (GTO Pure Parallel Program - Cycle 5) The WF/PC-2 was use to make random long exposures of high galactic = fields taken in parallel with the prime science observations to obtain a = random sample of galaxies. The observations were executed as scheduled, = and no anomalies were noted. 1.15 Completed FOS/BL 6918 (FOS Cycle 6: Internal/External Offset) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Blue Side) was used to make = observations of standard object NGC-6833 in order to make internal and = external calibration measurements. Offsets between internal and external = wavelength scales were measured for several different gratings. The = observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted. 1.16 Completed WF/PC-2 6802 (Cosmology With the Medium Deep Survey) The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations taken in parallel with = the prime science observations as part of the Medium Deep Sky Survey. = The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were = reported. 1.17 Completed GHRS/2 6593 (Origin and Physical Conditions in the = Local Lyman-Alpha Forest) The High Resolution Spectrograph (Side Two) was used to make high = resolution spectral observations of active galactic nuclei of MARK817 in = order to study the origin and physical conditions of the local = Lyman-Alpha forest cloud which lies in the foreground of the quasar. The = study of these data should provide a better understanding of the origin = and physical conditions in this cloud and its relationship, if any, to = near by galaxies. The observations were completed as planned and no = anomalies were reported. 1.18 Completed FOS/RD 6577 (An Expanded Survey for Study of the = Lyman-Alpha Line and QSO Mg II Absorption) The Faint Object Spectrograph (Red Side) was used to make = observations of the QSO B19 in order to make a survey of the Lyman-Alpha = line and the 68 Mg II absorption line system. The guide star acquisition = for this proposal faioled to obtain fine lock, and defaulted to SSM = control. HSTAR 5873 was written.
