Parallel Observations
The Faint Object Spectrograph was used to observe a blank
region of sky in parallel with the
WFPC during most of the HDF. Half the time was spent obtaining
spectra to calibrate the HST scattered-light model. Larry Petro
will be analyzing these data. The other half the time was spent
obtaining spectra to use as a calibration for a measurement
of the extragalactic background light. These data are proprietary
to Wendy Freedman and collaborators.
