STScI network archives -- Stsdas Documents directory

This directory is home for various documentation describing the STSDAS and
IRAF systems, as well as a few help files for tasks in the stsdas 
package.

The documentation falls into one of four functional groups depending on 
the user level: user, programmer, system manager, or local site user. 
These are reflected in the subdirectories user, programmer, manager, and 
site, respectively.

FORMAT
Electronic copies are provided for most of the STSDAS printed 
documentation. This is generally provided in both PostScript and ASCII 
text format and the files are identified by the ".ps" or ".txt" file 
name extensions. 

Documentation that we generally do not provide in hard copy form is 
found in various directories in LaTeX format (identified by the ".tex" 
extension). Some of these files depend on style files that can be found 
in the tex subdirectory (some of these files are somewhat dated but may 
still be of interest to experienced users because the information is not 
always available in an updated, more complete form).

F77VOS.ps     "Fortran-77 Interface for IRAF"

   F77VOS_chap     This sudirectory contains the Fortran-77 Interface for
		   IRAF document split up into individual chapters, in 
		   LaTEX format

IgiManual.ps  "IGI Reference Manual"

SPPManual.ps  "SPP Reference Manual"

   SPPManual_chap  This sudirectory contains the SPP Reference Manual
                   document split up into individual chapters, in 
		   PostScript and ASCII format.

SynphotManual.pdf "Synphot User's Guide", December 1998 version

   quick_refs	  Quick Reference Guides for Site Managers, IGI and STSDAS
		  Users are found in this directory, in PostScript format	

spr.form	  ASCII version of form to submit an SPR (Software Problem
		  Report) to the STSDAS group.

   site       Users at STScI, or GOs who plan to visit STScI, will find 
              site specific information in this subdirectory, such as:
              * "STScI Site Guide for IRAF and STSDAS"
              * "STScI Unix Users Guide"
              * "STScI VMS Users Guide"

   tex        This directory contains style files and other related TeX
              and LaTeX files, primarily for use with files in the 
              TechNote series in the programmer directory.

   UserGuide_chap  This sudirectory contains the STSDAS User Guide split
		   up into individual chapters, in PostScript format
