Available Science Time and Orientation Tool for the Cycle 16 Supplemental Call

This tool returns plots (and corresponding tabular views of the data) showing available orientations and science times throughout the year for two gyro operations at five degree intervals on the sky. These plots are:

  1. Target Visibility versus Month. This shows the amount of unocculted observing time available during the Cycle 16 Extension (Valid Dates: 06-Oct-08 to 05-Oct-09).
  2. Number of available days per year versus Orientation. This plot is not supported for the Cycle 16 Extension.
  3. Orientation versus Month. This plot can be used to check when a particular orientation (roll angle) is available during the Cycle 16 Extension (Valid Dates: 06-Oct-08 to 05-Oct-09).

Some background on scheduling observations in two-gyro mode, a detailed description of the content of these plots, and some examples of how to use them can be found in Chapter 2 of the Two-Gyro Handbook. Also, we have provided a short explanation of the plots. This information is based upon current estimates for scheduling of two-gyro observations and may be updated based on on-orbit experience.

The plots closest to the RA and Dec you enter will be displayed.
