In this Newsletter we provide information about updates to
the COS/FUV TDSTAB and DISPTAB reference files:

Updated COS/FUV Time Dependent Sensitivity Reference
File (TDSTAB) Released
A new COS FUV time-dependent sensitivity (TDS) reference file, 0561933ll_tds.fits, has been delivered for use in the COS pipeline. This file includes a shallower TDS slope for Segment A than currently modeled in the TDS reference file for all the FUV settings, except for the G130M/1055/1096 settings settings, which are not changed with the new TDS reference file. Users interested in optimal absolute flux calibration should re-retrieve COS FUV data taken after October 2013. -------------------------------------------------------------- Updated COS/FUV Wavelength Dispersion Solution Reference
File (DISPTAB) Released
A new COS FUV wavelength dispersion solution reference file (DISPTAB), 0561933ml_disp.fits, has been delivered for use in the COS calibration pipeline. This file includes updated dispersion coefficients (zero points and slopes) for data taken at LP1 (i.e. prior to 23 July 2012) with the G130M and G160M settings, and leads to overall uncertainties in the wavelength calibration of +/- 3 pix (1 sigma). Users interested in an improved wavelength calibration for G130M and G160M data obtained prior to 23 July 2012 are encouraged to retrieve their data from the HST archive. +----------------------------------------------------------+ | Need help? | +----------------------------------------------------------+ | To subscribe or unsubscribe to the STAN, send a message | to with a blank subject line and | the following in the body: [un]subscribe cos_news | or [un]subscribe stis_news +----------------------------------------------------------+ | The Space Telescope Science Institute is operated by the | Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, | Inc., under NASA contract NAS5-26555. +----------------------------------------------------------+
