Tools for planning COS observations

COS ETCs

The Exposure Time Calculators (ETCs) are on-line tools useful for predicting the signal-to-noise for various observing modes, given specified source characteristics.

APT

 The Astronomer's Proposal Tool (APT) is the general proposal planning tool for all HST instruments.

COS BOT Documentation (doc)

 APT Bright Object Tool (BOT) looks for bright objects in the field of view of each observation and checks if they exceed the safety limits of an instrument. This document provides an overview of BOT for COS observations.
