FOC Instrument Science Report 060 5/15/92 "FOC UV Flat Field Response" by P. Greenfield Abstract excerpted from report: A description is given of the FOC calibration observations of the Orion Nebula to obtain UV flat fields. The strategy of using multiple offset exposures to remove Orion Nebula brigthness variations appears to be successful in obtaining UV flat fields with accuracies (on larger scales) of 1-2% for f/96 and 2-4% for f/48. Comparisons with ground-based exposures indicate significant change in f/48 flat field characteristics, consistent with previous comparisons using LEDs. Calibration reference files for RSDP have been generated and delivered.
