"Implementation of a Background Count Rate Model for the GHRS"

Abstract

This document describes the implementation and usage of a background
count rate model for the GHRS detectors.The model uses geomagnetic
longitude and latitude to predict the background count rate at the time
of observation. The calculation uses a mean relation determined for the
FOS, scaled appropriately for Sides 1 and 2 of the GHRS.
