WFPC2 Reference File TablesReference files used by the WFPC2 calibration pipeline are updated over time and can be retrieved from the HST archive. This page is a development version of dynamically generated reference file listings, which should be reviewed by the WFPC2 Team. It is based on the current WFPC2 Reference File page. The links below give on-the-fly listings of all WFPC2 reference files, grouped by type, that are presently available in the Calibration Data Base System (CDBS) . These tables are intended to inform observers of the quality of the calibration applied to their data by the PODPS pipeline processing, and to provide an aid in selecting appropriate reference files for the re-calibration of WFPC2 observations. Each reference file has listed along with it the suggested "use after" date, the camera used and where necessary, the shutter, filter numbers, atodgain, clock, and/or filternames are given as well. The dataname in the table is the rootname of the reference file; the file extensions follow the convention outlined in ICD 47 (Post Observation Data Processing System to Calibration Data Base System Interface Control Document, Chapter 7):
ASCII header Binary data type of reference file
------------ ----------- ----------------------
.r0h .r0d static mask
.r1h .r1d analog to digital converter correction
lookup table
.r2h .r2d bias frame
.b2h .b2d bias data quality file
.r3h .r3d dark frame
.b3h .b3d dark data quality file
.r4h .r4d flatfield
.b4h .b4d flatfield data quality file
.r5h .r5d shutter shading correction
.r6h .r6d non-pipline correction flatfields
.r9h .r9d pixel area correction file
Decontamination Dates Dates of the periodic WFPC2 decontamination procedures. Mask Tables Static bad pixel mask reference file. Flags defects in the CCD that degrade pixel performance but are stable over time. A to D Tables A/D lookup reference files. Corrects value of each pixel for the analog-to-digital conversion error. Bias Images Bias images for subtraction from science data. Dark Images Dark Frames. To be scaled by exposure time and subtracted from science data. Flatfield Images Flat field images. Multiplies science data to correct for pixel-to-pixel sensitivity differences. Shutter Shading Images Images to correct in short (<10sec) exposures the effect of shutter motion. IDT's Delta Dark Images Note: Please read IDT memo for the use and modification of these files. Pixel Area Correction Tables Table of pixel areas varying across the field due to distortion. This correction is used to restore calibrated equal-area pixels back to their true relative areas when measuring integrated brightnesses. |
