PI: Dr. Molly Peeples Space Telescope Science Institute Y ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Abstract The LINE lamp used for wavecal exposures has faded significantly at the bluest wavelengths; as has already been done for the G140M/1173 mode, we plan to switch to the HITM2 lamp as the default lamp for the E140H/1234 and 1271 modes. Since the FUV flux at these wavelengths has not been checked since 2010, deep exposures are required to both determine the degree to which the HITM2 lamp is fading, and the wavecal exposure times required to reach a wavelength dispersion solution of 0.05 pixels. By comparing to observations in the same modes taken in 2010 we will additionally determine how HITM2 is fading, which will inform future calibration plans. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Observations Description ------------------------ Internal wavecals with the HITM2 lamp at a "medium" lamp current of 10mA for 1000s in both E140H/1234 and 1271 with the 0.2x0.09'' aperture, and 300s in G140L with the 52x0.1'' aperture;
