This chapter provides a basic description of the SIs that will be offered for use in Cycle 12, as well as a brief overview of the new instruments (Cosmic Origins Spectrograph and Wide Field Camera 3) planned for Cycle 13. Appendix B gives brief descriptions of previous HST instruments, which may be of interest for Archival Research.
